The Role:
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Level 2 Early Years Practitioner to join our early years setting on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with young children and is looking to develop their skills and experience within a supportive nursery environment.
You will support the delivery of high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children feel happy, secure, and confident to learn.
What we are looking for:
A full and relevant Level 2 Early Years qualification
Experience working with children aged 0–5 years (desirable but not essential)
A genuine interest in early childhood development
A warm, patient, and child-focused approach
Willingness to learn and develop within the role
Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
Good spoken and written English
Reliable, responsible, and committed to safeguarding children
Nice-to-have:
Progression towards or interest in achieving a Level 3 qualification
Experience supporting a key person
Basic understanding of safeguarding and health & safety requirements
Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to undertake training)
Experience using online learning journals (e.g. Tapestry)
Responsibilities:
Support the care and supervision of children in line with EYFS standards
Assist in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities
Help maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment
Support children’s personal care, routines, and wellbeing
Observe children’s play and development and share information with senior staff
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times
Work positively with colleagues to support effective teamwork
