The Role:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Level 3 Room Practitioner to join our early years team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for a confident practitioner who enjoys taking responsibility within a room, supporting high-quality practice, and ensuring children receive outstanding care and early education.
You will work closely with the Room Leader and wider nursery team to deliver engaging learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), while helping to maintain a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for all children.
What we are looking for:
A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (e.g. CACHE, NVQ, Diploma in Early Years Education)
Proven experience working within an early years setting (0–5 years)
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
Confidence in supporting room routines and daily practice
Ability to observe, assess, and contribute to planning children’s learning
Excellent communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues
A responsible, dependable professional able to work with minimal supervision
Good spoken and written English
Nice-to-have:
Experience supporting or deputising for a Room Leader
Confidence acting as a key person
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to train)
Experience using online learning journals (e.g. Tapestry)
Experience supporting children with SEND
Responsibilities:
Support the Room Leader in the day-to-day running of the room
Deliver high-quality care and education in line with EYFS requirements
Act as a key person, building positive relationships with children and families
Observe, assess, and record children’s learning and development
Contribute to planning engaging, child-led activities and routines
Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain consistent practice
